FACILITY USE POLICY AND REQUEST

Purpose
This policy is designed to ensure that Valley View Church facilities are used in a manner consistent with our Mission, Values, and Respect for God's House and Word.  The policy governs the use of the Sanctuary, Fellowship Area, Kitchen, Rooms, Recreational Areas, and Other church spaces for Weddings, Receptions, and Special Events.

General Policies

1. Eligibility
- Only current Members in good standing of Valley View Church may request the use of church facilities for Weddings, Receptions, and Special Events.
- Children or Grandchildren of Members (with approval).
- Official membership status is required and may be found in the Church Directory.
- All events must be consistent with the Bible, Doctrine, and Beliefs of Valley View Church.

2. Scheduling
- All facility use must be scheduled and approved through the Church Facilities Coordinator and then approved by Church Leadership.
- A Facility Use Request Form must be completed and submitted to the Church Facilities Coordinator or Pastor.  Events must be scheduled at least 30 days in advance.  (Exception for Funerals).
- Final Approval will be given by the Pastor and / or Deacons (3).

3. Usage Fee
- No fee is charged for facility use by Members.
- Fees apply for the following Optional Services:
- Custodial / Clean-Up Fee (if not handled by user): $175
- Sound Technician (required for Sanctuary Sound System): $100
- Piano / Music Instrument with Musician (if requested): $75
- Kitchen / Food Prep Labor (if requested): $250
* Payment for services must be submitted at least 7 days prior to the event.  Checks made payable to Valley View Church.

4. Decorations & Set-Up
- Decorations must not damage church property.  No tacks, nails, or tape on walls, pews, or fixtures.  Only battery powered candles  are permitted.  No real candles.
- Decorations must be placed on the date of the event or scheduled and approved through the Facilities Coordinator or Pastor for another date.
- All decorations must be removed immediately following the event unless prior arrangements are made.  The facility must be returned to the original condition following the event.
- Sanctuary furniture (e.g., Pulpit, Communion Table) should not be moved without permission.  Upon removal, all furniture and/or equipment must be placed back in original location.

5. Restrictions
- No alcohol, tobacco, vaping, or illegal drugs permitted on church property.
- No dancing.  All music must be consistent with Church Values and Doctrine.  Final discretion rests with the Worship Leader and Pastor.
- No Pets allowed indoors.

6. Clean-Up Responsibilities
- The Member reserving the facility is responsible for clean-up, unless the clean-up service is requested.
- All trash must be removed, and all rooms swept, mopped, cleaned, and returned to original condition.
- No Food or Drinks allowed in the Sanctuary.

7. Wedding Ceremonies
- All Wedding Ceremonies held at Valley View Church must reflect a Biblical understanding of Marriage as the Union of one Man and one Woman.
- The Pastor of Valley View Church must approve any Officiant not affiliated with Valley View Church.
- A wedding rehearsal is allowed and must be scheduled in advance.
- Pre-Marital Counseling is strongly encouraged and may be required at the discretion of the Valley View Church Pastor.

8. Liability
- Valley View Church is not liable for accidents, injury, or loss of property during events.
- Users must accept full responsibility for damage to any church property.
